You will learn a variety of practical strategies and techniques in real-world scenarios – custom-made by the LQBTQ+ community just for the LGBTQ+ community.
This afternoon workshop will be a combination of physical practice, lively discussion, and instructor demos in a safe space. Oh yeah – we’re going to have (serious) fun!
What you will learn:
- Self-defense strategies to keep you safe
- A practical method to tell if a situation is becoming dangerous
- How the mind reacts in bad situations and how to respond
- Simple karate techniques that you can use under pressure
This workshop is open to everyone 12 years of age or older. Bring water to drink and wear loose sports clothing / gym shoes – no special equipment needed.
Admission is $60 per person.
We are choosing to make this workshop as affordable as possible, and we do not want to turn anyone away for lack of funds! If money feels like a barrier, please contact us and we can help find a way to make this work! Grants available for teens thru our partner Gro-Community of Santa Cruz County.
Doors open at Noon – workshop starts promptly at 12:30 pm. Kindly arrive early to sign in and pay at the door – cash, check, or Venmo.
