An artful practice to keep strong!

Record Record

Our seniors class offers a low impact, unique approach through soft-style karate that has far-reaching fitness benefits for active adults.

It enhances balance, coordination, strength and flexibility, and improves confidence in your physical abilities.

We create a fun, encouraging, and safe environment that allows students to take steps towards a richer, fuller and happier life.

Soft-style karate is the ideal activity for people in their later years:

  • It is a low impact activity that works every muscle and bone… movement is a key to health!
  • You work within your abilities – there’s never pressure to exceed what you can safely do.
  • It strengthens the body, the mind, and overall energy.
  • The martial arts offer a journey for all – we have students in their 70’s who have achieved great skills and better health.

Also, there is always reason to learn self-defense.

  • Learn how to increase your awareness, avoid risk and move with confidence.

About Soft-Style Martial Arts

“Soft” karate techniques are characterized as being circular in nature and having flowing transitions with beautiful dynamic movement.

It utilizes a strong breathing method to generate and transmit internal energy Qi (Chinese) or ki (Japanese and Korean) similar to other martial arts such as tai chi, hapkido, and aikido.

A well-performed soft-style routine (form) is a magnificent thing to behold and a wonderful achievement to perform.

Teachings are of the ancient Korean martial art of Soo Bahk Do – the artistic, “soft” side of the larger traditional martial art known as Tang Soo Do.
